Figrou

Hello there! Figrou, I am — your guide, hmm. Figbase, a reference site it is, where which sets the LEGO minifigures come in, and how to tell the variants apart, across the board mapped out they are. Wherever your curiosity leads, begin there you should.

This article organizes the Moff Gideon LEGO minifigure variants and the sets they appear in, based on official information.

Here’s the short version: there are two Moff Gideon minifigures so far (sw1160 and sw1342). They come in #75315 Imperial Light Cruiser and #75386 Paz Vizsla and Moff Gideon Battle.

Who Is Moff Gideon?

LEGO Star Wars Paz Vizsla and Moff Gideon Battle 75386: via Amazon

Moff Gideon is an Imperial remnant officer from the live-action series The Mandalorian, played by Giancarlo Esposito. A cold, calculating commander, he’s the story’s main antagonist, relentlessly hunting down Grogu (The Child).

His biggest hook is the legendary weapon he claims in the Season 1 finale: the Darksaber. It’s a blade that symbolizes rulership over Mandalore, and Gideon holding it drives much of the plot forward. In Season 3 he suits up in black armor for the final showdown, so his look changes from season to season. That’s exactly why the LEGO minifigures are split by his appearance at each point in the story.

Moff Gideon Has 2 Minifigures | Variant List

There are currently two Moff Gideon LEGO minifigures: sw1160 and sw1342. Unlike Paz Vizsla, where the variants are “similar looks in different shades,” Gideon’s appearance changes completely between seasons. One is a caped version, the other a helmeted armor version, so telling them apart is easy at a glance.

Cape Version (sw1160) | 2021 Debut, With Darksaber

The original Moff Gideon. He debuted in #75315 Imperial Light Cruiser. It’s an Imperial-officer look with black armor and a cape lined in red and black, and the dual-sided head is detailed right down to the mustache and stern expression. This captures the Season 1–2 Gideon. BrickLink catalogs it as “Moff Gideon – Cape,” and the biggest draw is that it comes with the Darksaber.

Helmet & Jet Pack Version (sw1342) | 2024, Season 3 Look

The newer one, included in the 2024 release #75386 Paz Vizsla and Moff Gideon Battle. It has a newly molded horned helmet with red printing, and the printing continues onto the torso and legs to recreate his Season 3 final-battle armor. LEGO’s official marketing calls this the “Dark Trooper Armor” look. It comes with a small jet pack, the same mold used for the First Order Jet Trooper. BrickLink catalogs it as “Moff Gideon – Helmet, Jet Pack.” Whether a Darksaber is included hasn’t been confirmed.

A note from Figrou, here. Split across two sets, Moff Gideon is. The original sw1160 with the Darksaber, want it you do? Then #75315, aim for. The Season 3 armor sw1342, in #75386 you seek. Large and pricey, #75315 is, so begin with the easier-to-find #75386, you may.
