LEGO Greef Karga Minifigures: 2 Variants and Set List

“How many Greef Karga minifigures are there?” “Which set has the red-coat one versus the black-robe one?” “Can you still get the early version?”
If you’re a collector, you’ve probably run into these questions. Let’s sort them all out in this article.

Figrou

Hello there! Figrou, I am — your guide, hmm. Figbase, a reference site it is, where which sets the LEGO minifigures come in, and how to tell the variants apart, across the board mapped out they are. Wherever your curiosity leads, begin there you should.

Read this and you’ll see at a glance how many Greef Karga LEGO minifigures there are and which set each one comes in.

Here’s the short version: there are broadly two Greef Karga minifigures. The red-coat early version (sw1114) and the black-robe, white-beard magistrate version (sw1156), and the sets they’re in split cleanly too.

Who Is Greef Karga?

Greef Karga is the man who runs the bounty hunters’ guild on the planet Nevarro in the live-action series The Mandalorian. In Season 1 he’s the one handing bounty jobs to the hero, the Mandalorian (Din Djarin) — essentially the guy who brokers the work.

As the story moves on, his position changes and he comes to run the town as the High Magistrate of Nevarro. He was played by actor Carl Weathers. The fun part is that his on-screen change in appearance is reflected right into two LEGO minifigure variants.

Greef Karga Has Multiple Minifigures | Variant List

There are currently two Greef Karga variants. The tell-apart points are simple: just look at the “clothing color” and the “beard.”

Early Version | Bounty Guild Leader Style (sw1114)

This early version debuted in 2020. It’s characterized by a dark-red shirt with a diagonal belt and cape printing. The head is reddish brown with black hair and a mustache. It’s the somewhat dignified bounty-hunter look of the Season 1 guild leader. The face is dual-printed, so you can switch between a smile and an angry expression.

Magistrate Version | Black Robe, White Beard (sw1156)

The magistrate version arrived in 2021. This one wears a black robe, and the beard has turned gray (white). It’s his look after becoming Nevarro’s magistrate from Season 2 onward. The first impression is quite different from the early version, so lined up together they might feel like two different people. Its official BrickLink name is “Greef Karga – Black Magistrate Robe and Gray Beard,” where the beard and robe are the deciding identifiers.

A quick word on reading the table. The book inserts (activity books) are the type that come with a single minifigure, so a bit different from a build set they are. To grab the robed sw1156 cheaply, an option these inserts can be. Figrou’s pick: first, by the scale of the set decide, you should.

Debut, Newest, Rarest, Cheapest | Buying a Greef Karga Minifigure

Debut: #75292 The Razor Crest

The early sw1114 first appeared in the large 2020 set #75292 The Razor Crest — the popular set that turned the Mandalorian’s beloved ship into LEGO form.

Rarest: The Early sw1114

The red-coat early sw1114 is currently in just one set, #75292. And since it comes bundled in a large set, hunting it on its own raises the difficulty a bit. If you want the early version, going via the Razor Crest is the basic route.

Cheapest: The Magistrate sw1156

The black-robe sw1156 is available in the mid-size set #75311 Imperial Armored Marauder and in book inserts. With more distribution routes than the early version, it’s a relatively accessible variant.
