Who Is Onaconda Farr?
Onaconda Farr is a Rodian senator from Star Wars: The Clone Wars (the animated series). He has the typical Rodian features of green skin, large black eyes, and bulbous antennae, and serves as the representative senator for the Rodia system in the Galactic Senate.
He’s written as an old friend of Padme Amidala’s father, Ruwee Naberrie, and Padme herself affectionately calls him “Uncle Ono.” Early in The Clone Wars, struggling because the Republic won’t provide food aid to Rodia, he temporarily sides with the Separatists and, at Nute Gunray’s demand, helps capture Amidala. But at the last moment he returns to the Republic’s side and creates the decisive turn that leads to Gunray’s capture. It’s a two-sided, important character.
Onaconda Farr Has Only One Minifigure Variant: How to Identify sw0241
As of now, only one Onaconda Farr LEGO minifigure variant can be confirmed: sw0241. No additional variants with different torso colors, sculpts, or eras can be found on BrickLink or fan sites.
| Variant Name | sw No. | How to Identify | Main Sets |
|---|---|---|---|
| Onaconda Farr (Clone Wars version) | sw0241 | Dedicated Rodian head (blue eyes / dark turquoise speckle printing, head part x903pb01). The torso is printed with a purple jacket, a dark navy shirt, and a yellow belt. The legs are solid gray. | #8036, #852844 |
How to Tell Him Apart from Other Rodian Minifigures
Other Rodian minifigures that LEGO has made include the bounty hunter Greedo and various Rodian civilian characters. Onaconda Farr is clearly distinguished from other Rodians with combat-gear or jacket-style printing by his “senator-like formal torso printing (purple jacket plus yellow belt).”
LEGO Star Wars Sets That Include Onaconda Farr
The LEGO Star Wars sets where Onaconda Farr (sw0241) can be confirmed total two items: one regular play set and one magnet set.
| Set No. | Set Name | Year | Variant | Appears In | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| #8036 | Separatist Shuttle | 2009 | sw0241 | Star Wars: The Clone Wars | Regular play set. 237 pieces total. The included minifigures are Onaconda Farr, Nute Gunray, two Battle Droids, and a Pilot Droid, five in all. |
| #852844 | Star Wars Magnet Set (Chancellor Palpatine, Nute Gunray, Onaconda Farr) | 2010 | sw0241 | Star Wars: The Clone Wars | Gear-line magnet set. The three figures, Palpatine, Nute Gunray, and Onaconda Farr, come fixed to 2×4 brick magnet bases in blister packaging. |
Only two items, there are, so a fairly compact collecting goal, this is. Retired, both of them are, mmm, so limited the new stock is. Hunt for the sw0241 figure on its own via BrickLink, a solid option too it is. In mind keep that, Figrou’s recommended way to search, it is.
#8036 Separatist Shuttle Set Overview
#8036 Separatist Shuttle is a set that recreates the small shuttle used by the Separatists. It has a movable door and landing gear, and the build corresponds to Nute Gunray’s shuttle seen in the Rodia mission on screen. It’s also the milestone debut set where Onaconda Farr was made into a LEGO minifigure for the first time.
#852844 Star Wars Magnet Set Overview
#852844 is a so-called “magnet figure” item with the minifigures fixed to 2×4 brick magnet bases. It’s classified under the Gear (merchandise) line rather than as a play set. It includes three figures, Palpatine, Nute Gunray, and Onaconda Farr, a combination clearly built around characters involved in the political clashes of The Clone Wars.
Debut, Newest, Rarest, Cheapest: If You Want an Onaconda Farr Minifigure
- Debut: #8036 Separatist Shuttle (2009)
- Newest: #852844 Star Wars Magnet Set (2010). No inclusion in any newer set has been confirmed since then
- Rarest: at this time, no production-quantity or distribution-ratio data can be confirmed, so a clear ranking can’t be made
- Cheapest: since the launch MSRP couldn’t be confirmed, Figbase doesn’t make a comparison
Both sets are already retired, so new stock is limited. If you want to secure the sw0241 figure on its own for your collection, buying the minifigure separately (secondhand via BrickLink and similar) is also an option.
Related Minifigures to Collect Alongside Onaconda Farr
Given Onaconda Farr’s backstory, next to the characters below display him, and easier to recreate the “Rodia mission” and the “political drama of early Clone Wars,” it becomes. Figrou’s pick of the crew, here it is.
- Nute Gunray: included in #8036. On screen, the one who pulls Onaconda Farr to the Separatist side and is ultimately betrayed by Farr
- Padme Amidala: included in a separate set. On screen they share a close bond as “Uncle Ono” and his niece; she’s the one Farr captures during the Rodia mission
- Chancellor Palpatine: included in the #852844 magnet set
- Battle Droids / Pilot Droid: three included in total in #8036. Essential for recreating the shuttle operation scene
